MORRISTOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 75 is 153 square miles with approximately 155 elementary students.  The district is an elementary district not within a high school district, therefore providing tuition and transportation for approximately 50 high school students.

 

The District is located in Northwest Maricopa County, just Southeast of the Town of Wickenburg and Northwest of Surprise, right off Grand Avenue.  It is a growing district with the opportunity for growth and advancement in the future.

The district is seeking applicants for a SUBSTITUTING in the areas of teaching, food service (kitchen/cafetria), custodial, Arizona Certified School bus drivers (substitutes as well as part time) , instructional aides and an instructional support clerk to substitute in the school office, on an on-going basis.  This means you would be called only if a staff member is ill, on personal leave or attending a workshop.

The Wickenburg Children's cultural Organization (WCO) is looking to engage a music teacher to serve several schools in the Wickenburg area, including Morristown:

Job Description:  Teaching Music Artist

We are currently searching for a teaching artist to serve area schools with a variety of needs for the 2012-2013 school year.

§  Applicants should meet most, if not all of the criteria listed in the following descriptions and possess a strong passion for bringing quality music education to elementary and middle school students.

§  The WCO is committed to assisting area schools deliver comprehensive, year-long music education programs to their students.  Through the teaching artist program, the WCO intends to offer support music instruction into the curricula.  We believe every child deserves a well-rounded education – one which includes music.

§  Responsibilities:  The teaching artist will provide a variety of needed music instruction at Wickenburg area schools.  The instruction may include general music and instrument instruction, but will depend on the specific needs of each organization.

§  A Teaching Artist will meet the following criteria:
-Bachelor or an Advanced Degree in Music/Music Education with proficiency in the teaching of orchestral string instruments.
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Experience in preparing for various concerts
-Has reliable transportation to teaching location or willingness to relocate for the duration of the contract
-Experience working with middle school aged students highly desirable
-Experience working with general music and choral classes
-Knowledge of Orff and Kodaly methods desirable
-Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
-Willingness to connect music instruction to other subjects in school curriculum.

§  Team Player

§  Stipend will be $20.00 per hour.  Anticipated duration- 2 semesters.
